With over 25 years of industry experience, Desmond manages all aspects of risk business lines, both operationally and in business development. His policing career began with the South African Police Service, with varied roles including hostage negotiator, air marshal, and Detective Inspector of Internal Affairs.

He relocated to Canada, working as a college instructor at the Police and Public Safety Institute at Algonquin College in Ottawa, focusing on background investigations and interviewing techniques. He also served as the Senior Vice President of AFIMAC Canada, responsible for all aspects of the business including business development, investigations, security screening (Air Canada & British Airways throughout Canada and Brazil), protective services, and labour dispute division.
