March – Fraud Prevention Month
Did you know March is Fraud Prevention Month? Each year, this month focuses on promoting awareness and education on Fraud prevention. Unfortunately, fraud targeting businesses can be just as creative and convincing as those targeting consumers. The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre has reported the unprecedented levels of fraud over the past three years, with Canadians reporting a staggering $554 million lost in 2023. This means it’s more important than ever to educate yourself. At Xpera, we’ve prepared a collection of resources to help build your knowledge of the tools available to protect your business.
Xpera Shares the Spirit of the Holidays with Children in Need
Once again, the Burnaby Xpera office participated in Operation Shoebox. Thirty seven shoeboxes were filled this year. The initiative is headed by, Sandra Harley, Regional Manager, Investigations.
The program collects gift-filled shoeboxes from donors and distributes them to needy children in the developing world. The program has brought joy and the message of hope to more than 135 million children so far. Employees were encouraged to donate new items suitable for children between the ages of 2 and 14 years old. School supplies, personal hygiene items, and small toys were some of the recommended items. Employees also had the option of making a cash donation for the purchase of items or to fill a provided shoebox themselves.
