Statement of Commitment
Xpera Risk Mitigation & Investigation (“Xpera” or “the Company”) is committed to respecting the core principles of accessibility legislation: dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity. We incorporate these principles into our pulicies, procedures, training, and best practices. We strive to ensure that all people have access to our services.
Introduction
Xpera is committed to fulfilling the accessibility standards established by the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), created under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) 2005.
The AODA and IASR are enacted to develop, implement, and enforce accessibility standards to achieve accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities with respect to:
- Customer Service
- Information and Communications
- Employment
- Design of Public Spaces
- Transportation
Our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan 2025 to 2030 outlines our plan for compliance with AODA and IASR. The 2025 – 2030 Multi-Year Plan builds on what we have accomplished since our first plan.
Past Achievements to Remove and Prevent Barriers
- Trained all employees, including new hires, vulunteers, and others on Ontario’s accessibility laws and on the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities
- Maintained training records and updated content as regulation evulved
- Ongoing assessment of the need for kiosks in current locations
- All websites and content meet WCAG 2.0 Level A standards
- Published a statement of commitment on company website
- Published the Company’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan on our employee portal and public website, both of which include contact information for feedback and suggestions
- Offered alternative formats and communication supports upon request
- Included language in job postings to welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities
- Included language in job postings offering accommodation for applicants with disabilities upon request
- Aligned our recruitment practices with human rights and applicable provincial employment standards
- Created individualized accommodation and return to work programs for employees with disabilities
- Submitted compliance reports to the government as required
Multi-Year Accessibility Goals (2025 – 2030)
- Customer Service
- Continue staff training on accessible interactions with specific modules addressing communication during high stress situations
- Implement feedback mechanisms that accommodate various disabilities
- Information & Communication
- Ensure operational documents such as reports and training manuals are accessible in digital and alternative formats upon request
- Ensure all new web content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards
- Employment
- Accessible recruitment practices are in place for field and administrative roles; individual accommodation plans are provided as needed
- Train hiring managers on inclusive recruitment practices
- Formalize inclusive onboarding and return to work processes
- Increase recruitment outreach to disability-serving organizations
- Training
- Provide annual AODA refresher courses to employees at all levels
- Track & document completion rates to ensure full compliance
- Design of Public Spaces
- Conduct annual audits of physical spaces for accessibility improvements
- Integrate universal design features into future office expansion, renovations, and new office locations
Review and Monitoring
This plan will be reviewed and updated every five years, or as needed. Progress will be monitored annually by the Human Resources Team and communicated internally
